When I was 14 years old, spending most of my time on Tumblr, liking coffee, tea, and fandoms was an entire identity. Liking tea made you sophisticated and soft, coffee made you edgy, and fandoms made you relatable. Now, phasing out of my Tumblr days at 20, my identity (thankfully) has evolved beyond caffeine and fandoms, but there’s still something to be said for the familiarity that a hot cup of tea creates.
There are many memories attached to coffee and tea. First it was exploring cool coffee shops wherever I went, simply because the atmosphere was unmatched by any place I’d been. Then it was getting into brewing tea and coffee at home, then enjoying going up to my grandmother’s house and chatting over cups of tea. In my first year of college it was working at a tea house where I got to explore my taste in tea. Now, it’s enjoying the quality time with people I love over a cup of tea.
I think there’s something to be said while we wait for the tea to steep.
Whether it’s by yourself, self-reflecting through artistic expression, or with others, talking and growing with each other. Comfort in a cup creates creativity on a page.
So this is my blog, my creations over a cuppa. Please enjoy!
